Connie Tobler

Connie passed away on August 15, 2008.  Her obituary was in the Spectrum newspaper on August 17, 2008.  It reads as follows:

Connie Lee Maggard Tobler, 58, passed away Friday, August 15, 2008, after a valiant struggle with multiple complications stemming from pancreatic cancer.  She was surrounded in love by many family members at the time of her passing.

Connie was born on February 4, 1950, in Salt Lake City to Bill and Arletta Maggard.  On March 16, 1968, she married her eternal companion, Robert Grieg Tobler, in the St. George LDS Temple.  They were thrilled to celebrate their 40th anniversary just five short months ago, with many family members and friends.

She graduated form Dixie High school in 1968, two months after being married.  Connie and Grieg lived for a time in Salt Lake City, and then a few years in Escondido, CA., before moving to St. George in 2000.

Above all, Connie cherished her role as wife, mother and grandmother.  It was a six year strugggle for her and Grieg to beign their family, but they were eventually blessed with three loving daughters.  She took greast joy in organizing and planning events that brought her family together.  Connie loved traveling to places like Switzerland and Brazil, and many parts of the United States.  She took joy in caring for her home and growing beautiful houseplants.  Connie was a very loving and compassionate person, always caring for everyone around her.

Most recently Connie was employed at the St. George Surgical center.  Words cannot express how grateful we have been for their generosity and graciousness during her illness. She is survived by her husband, Grieg, of St. George, UT; Daughters and sons-in-law: Amanda and Jason Griffith, of St. George, UTS; Jodi and Erik Simper, of Ro Rancho, NM; Jennifer and John Bramstedt, of Everett, WAS; Seven beautiful grandchildren, who were the lights of her life:  Maegan, Emily, Sarah, Alex, Aidan, Connor and Felix.  She is also survived by her parents, Bill and Arletta Maggard of St. George, UT; Siblings: Steve Maggard, Stan Maggard, Marty Maggard, Kaelyn Smith, and their spouses.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 19, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff, St. George.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 20, at 1100 am at the Foster Hills Ward Chapel, 259 Mall Drive, St. George.  Friends may visit one hour prior to funeral services at the church.  Interment will take place in the Washington City Cemetery.
