This is Linda’s mother’s obituary:

St. George, UT – Lois Effie Turnbow Hunt passed away at age 89 on May 4, 2014 is St. George, Utah. She was born December 12, 1924, the youngest of twelve children to Benjamin O. and Effie Eliza Jones Turnbow in Tabonia, Utah. Lois was proud to be the only graduate from Tabonia High School in 1942 and soon after Lois moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. She worked at Kress Department Store and later at the LDS Church Offices in the membership record department. Lois loved to dance, and met her future husband, Floyd D. Hunt at a church dance. They were married in the St. George, Utah LDS Temple on September 26, 1947 Lois was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she held many callings. She loved the work in Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society. As described by her children, she was a loving mother and grandmother. If you needed to talk, Mom was a great listener. Mom was a great cook, had a great sense of humor, and loved everyone, especially little children and music. Mom was faithful and compassionate, and loved the gospel. We remember Mom saying, “I’ll be good, if you’ll be good.” Mom loved chocolate and always had an abundance to share…. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, 11 brothers and sisters, and her loving husband. She is survived by her seven children; Ann Marie (Robert) Cox, Linda Sue (Gene) Neumann, Raquel (Dean) Steele, Floyd Maurice (Jennifer) Hunt, LaReena Hunt, Daymon D. (Dayna )Hunt and Thomas (April) Ranger. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy of 41 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the many caregivers who cheerfully helped Mom through the difficult last years of her life. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 166 South Main St., St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 12th at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. There will also be a visitation held prior to the services on May 13th at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the St. George LDS 2nd Ward Chapel. Interment will be at the Enterprise City Cemetery, Enterprise, Utah. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary (435) 673-4221.
